The gas pump is killing me! Every week I pull up to the pump in my small VW car and feel like I’m driving this monster! With $4/gallon and higher in the near future I’m looking for every way I can to save fuel and combine trips into one so I can save at the pump. Thinking of a vacation this summer is really painful!
Anyone that has ideas of ways to really save fuel let me know! I know that when I put stuff into my storage unit I often hold it in the garage for a few weeks then when I have several things to go and maybe a list of a couple of things that need to be brought back from storage I make the trip. It all saves fuel.
I would love to change my car to a natural gas burner but I just don’t think it can be done at a reasonable cost. If you are an inventor…invent that! You will be rich!

Welcome to D3 Dolly DeWald Designs
D3 is a full-service home staging and redesign firm that helps homeowners, real estate professionals, and new homebuilders sell their properties more quickly and for top dollar.
With a father in real estate and a mother who rearranged the family home on a weekly basis, you could say company president Dolly DeWald was raised to become a home stager. “We spent Sunday afternoons visiting open houses my whole childhood,” says Dolly, “that was our entertainment discussing what homes would sell quickly and for how much, depending on what they looked like.”
Later, Dolly took her passion for decorating and real estate and bought, decorated and sold six of her own properties. She also managed several rental properties, always staging them to rent quickly.
Time to Sell — It’s a Beauty Contest
Irresistible charm? A “beauty” that stands out from the rest? Just as appealing on the inside as it is on the outside? These are important questions every homeowner needs to ask. Dolly DeWald knows how to package a seller’s home into a very marketable product that will sell faster and for more money.
How D3 Dolly DeWald Designs Works
It starts with a two hour minimum consultation covering these topics:
- Outer beauty. If a home isn’t enticing from the outside, most buyers will assume the same is true of the inside, and drive right by. D3 advises on how to improve these areas:
- Landscaping
- Lighting
- Exterior home condition (i.e. paint, sidewalks, driveway)
- General clean-up and beautification
- Inner beauty. D3 works with clients to bring out the best in every room and addresses the following issues:
- Clutter-Control: Buyers want room. Chances are that they are moving from a crowded space. Suggestions will be made for removal or storage of clutter.
- Room Flow and Arrangement: Most of the time there is too much furniture or not enough. D3 arranges furniture and accessories to improve traffic flow and bring out a room’s best assets.
- Lighting: D3 creates an ambiance that’s suited to each individual room.

- Interior Paint Color: D3 recommends colors that will enhance a room’s beauty, size and appeal to attract buyers.
- Décor and more: A home that’s tastefully decorated sells quicker than one that isn’t. Maybe it’s a new shower curtain and towels for the guest bathroom, a new comforter to replace a worn or outdated one, or art for that bare wall in the entryway. Service includes shopping, decorating and placement.
- Cleaning, Smells, and General Repairs: A clean, fresh-smelling home that’s in top-notch condition will sell faster. If the doorbell doesn’t work, a buyer will assume that there are bigger issues. D3 analyzes each room and makes recommendations to improve a home’s saleability.
- Entourage: The life of a home seller is hectic. D3 has a team of skilled professionals to help a home regain its tip-top condition including: plumbers, painters and electricians, landscapers, carpet cleaners and handymen.
- Empty Space: Often in beauty contests, there’s a contestant that’s gorgeous on the outside, but there’s just nothing on the “inside.” It’s the same with homes. Often, people have to move before their home sells but an empty house doesn’t sell as fast or for as much as a home that looks occupied. D3 can furnish a home top-to-bottom with furniture and accessories until the home sells.
- Redesign: D3 offers redesign for the homeowner, who is not moving, but wants to fall in love with their home again. All the benefits of “staging”, without the hassles of moving!

I Believe strongly in making everything I do easier and more convenient! This shelving is a must have for your home and your STORAGE UNIT! These units are easily found at any Home Depot or Lowe’s and are very strong and very portable. I use these in my pantry closet, in my garage, and in my storage unit because they are so strong and portable you can actually move these with your stuff still on the shelves. When I move I just take a roll of “shrink wrap” and wrap the entire outside and you are ready to wheel your whole self and stuff to the truck. Up the ramp and into the truck and you are on your way to your new place.
Trust me, a very small investment in these shelves when you are young will be the best thing you ever did in the long run!

Winter blues are setting in here at Cherry Hills Storage office. Not that there is anything to complain about. There isn’t! Winter has been very good to Omaha this season and more often than not better weather here than many of the snowbird hangouts. Anyway, I still have to cry a little this time of year mainly because it’s time to start gardening! I’m making plans and hoping to get out in the dirt early this season.
For those of you planing to change homes this spring, down sizing or up sizing, I have some space right now for you to rent for the staging that will need done during the sale of your current home. Consider getting started now so you have several weeks to SLOWLY move all those extras out of your home. Don’t try to do it all in one weekend and end up at the chiropractor for the next six months healing your back.
Plan ahead!
CAR GUYS: Don’t forget to come start your cars every few weeks to keep the oil lubricating those seals and gaskets! Just sayin’!

Just finishing a week off. What a great time with my wife and some family members we spent different times with. Yesterday we had a great day touring some restored barns in Iowa. EVERY one of them had goodies stored awaiting someone to come along and “need” the item that was stored. Remember that when you store…someone will be un-storing your stuff…make sure it’s worth your time and theirs by storing only the best, most usable items or stuff with an emotional meaning.

Check this blog out…this should be mine so I can park it in the showroom window!

Mattias Vöcks is at it again. Back in 2006, the Swedish-born designer who normally spends his days hand-assembling supercars for Koenigsegg used the SEMA to debut his show-stopping custom 1967 Volvo Amazon that was once voted “Sweden’s Hottest Volvo.” That title may soon go out to another of Vöcks’ stunning creations, this time based on the classic Volvo P1800 made famous in part as the car driven by Roger Moore in the British television series The Saint from the 1960s.
With help from Bo Zolland from Swedish design firm Vizualtech, Vöcks has added a few modifications to bring the shapely Swedish beauty to modern standards. Aerodynamics are improved by a rear diffuser, flat underbody tray and a front fascia that’s been smoothed out and lengthened by 70mm. Powering the beast is a 4.4-liter V8 borrowed from a Volvo XC90 SUV that’s been force-fed by a turbocharger and routes its 600 horses through a six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.
According to a report by Auto Express, this custom Swede is slated to enter small-scale production at some unspecified date in the future. We can hardly wait.
